Get Your Smile Back at Wave Dental Specialists

Tooth loss is a natural part of life and affects millions of people all over the world every year. You can lose one or more teeth over time due to normal wear and tear, injury, infection, or disease. Whatever the cause, you don’t have to live with missing teeth. Wave Dental Specialists use the latest technology, materials, and fabrication techniques to create dentures that look natural and fit comfortably. Here are the types of denture services we offer to restore our patients’ smiles:

Removable Dentures

The traditional removable denture is custom-made using precise digital impressions of your mouth and jaw. It consists of two parts: the gum-colored base that fits over your gums and supports your artificial teeth and the set of artificial teeth themselves. When worn, your dentures will replace the look and function of your natural bite so that you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence. You may require complete or partial dentures depending on the extent of your tooth loss and overall treatment needs.

Implant-supported Dentures

For patients looking for a more stable, natural-looking denture solution, we offer implant-supported dentures. Also called fixed dentures or snap-in dentures, this type of denture uses a series of dental implants to anchor to your jaw. Your implant denture is attached to the implant posts surgically placed in your jaw to replace all of your teeth at once for a complete, lifelike smile. The implant dentures will not slip because they are supported by the implant posts.

Denture Stabilization

If you already have dentures and would like the increased stability of implants, we also offer denture stabilization. This involves attaching either a ball-retained or ball-retained system to your dentures so that they anchor to dental implants placed in your jaw. The newly fitted attachments secure your dentures in place for better stability and function.

Dentures

While there are a few materials available for patients to choose from, dentures are typically made from acrylic resin. Acrylic resin is chosen for its durability, natural appearance, and lighter weight compared to other materials. This means your dentures will look more natural and feel more comfortable.

Depending on the type of denture you choose, you can generally expect it to take 2-3 appointments to get your dentures from start to finish. This includes your consultation, impressions and scans, fabrication, try-in, adjustments, and receiving your final dentures. Our dental team will be able to give you a complete timeline of your dentures treatment during your visits.

In most cases and for most patients, yes. Dental insurance plans consider dentures a major procedure and will generally cover up to 50 percent of your overall treatment costs. Our office will provide you with a complete breakdown of all treatment costs and out-of-pocket expenses during your visit, as well as your payment and financing options.

A set of traditional removable dentures will typically last 5-8 years, with even higher quality, more durable dentures needing to be replaced after 7-10 years. Dentures retained or supported by implants will typically last upwards of 10 years before they will need to be replaced.
